Professor Konstantina Nikita of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and Principal Researcher at the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS), has been honored by the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society. The prestigious award recognizes her transformative leadership and outstanding contributions to advancing scientific publications, global visibility, and the international impact of antennas and electromagnetic wave propagation. The award ceremony took place during the society’s flagship international conference held this past July in Detroit, USA.
The IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) is the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity, with over 500,000 members across 200 countries. The IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society, counting more than 17,000 members worldwide, fosters research, education, and global collaboration in the fields of antennas, wave propagation, and telecommunications.
Professor Nikita serves as the Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, a premier peer-reviewed journal in the field, and was the founding Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Open Journal of Antennas and Propagation.
This prominent distinction honors her long-standing, multi-faceted contributions to the international scientific community. Furthermore, it highlights the continuous presence and active engagement of both NTUA and ICCS within world-class scientific and technological institutions.
