Upcoming Lecture: Climate Change in 2025. What science is telling us

The Energy Policy Unit of the Institute of Communication & Computer Systems, National Technical University of Athens (EPU, ICCS-NTUA) and the Institute for Environmental Research and Sustainable Energy of the National Observatory of Athens (IERSD, NOA) will have the pleasure and honour of co-hosting a guest lecture by the Head of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and Emeritus Professor in Sustainable Energy at Imperial College London, Sir Jim Skea, on “Climate Change in 2025: What science is telling us”, on Tuesday 13/05/2025, 16.00 EEST, at the Ceremonial Hall of NTUA (ground floor, Central Administration Building, Zografou Campus).

In the context of the Unit’s scientific interests and series of research projects (such as IAM COMPACT, DIAMOND, and TRANSIENCE), the lecture will focus on the latest scientific evidence regarding the physical science basis, impacts and adaptation, and climate change mitigation, as well as on the role of the scientific community, through the processes of the IPCC, ahead of its 7th Assessment Report (AR7) cycle.

Opening remarks by Prof. John Psarras (ICCS Director, NTUA) and Dr. Christos Giannakopoulos (IERSD Research Director, NOA).

After the lecture, the audience will have the opportunity to engage in a discussion with Prof. Skea in Q&A, moderated by Dr. Alexandros Nikas (NTUA).
