Multidisciplinary Expert System for the Assessment & Management of Complex Brain Disorders (MES-COBRAD). The Multidisciplinary Expert System for the Assessment & Management of Complex Brain Disorders (MES-CoBraD) constitutes an interdisciplinary project combining Real-World Data (RWD) from multiple clinical and consumer sources through comprehensive, cost-efficient, and fast protocols towards improving diagnostic accuracy and therapeutic outcomes in people with Complex Brain Disorders (CoBraD), as reflected in Neurocognitive (Dementia), Sleep, and Seizure (Epilepsy) disorders and their interdependence.

MES-CoBraD will develop advanced artificial intelligence algorithms, and expert systems of precision and personalized care with a primary focus on improving the quality of life of patients, their caregivers, and the society at large. MES-CoBraD will draw on expertise in medicine, engineering, computer science, amongst others and is going to tackle both clinical and research challenges. In terms of clinical challenges, the MES-CoBraD aims to address the underdiagnosis or delaying diagnosis of CoBraD, the misdiagnosis of CoBraD, the suboptimal or contraindicated therapies, the suboptimal phenotyping of CoBraD, the undiagnosed comorbid CoBraD, the lack of effective treatments, the assessment of the psychological impact of clinical care as well as the access to both healthcare and compliance. With regards to the research challenges, the MES-CoBraD will address them through the multisource real-world clinical information access and integration, a user-friendly interface and practical visualization of complex information, the dynamic modular updateable platforms, and the implementation of both Artificial Intelligence and expert systems algorithms for assisting the task of clinical decision making.

The overall success of MES-CoBraD will be defined by the efficiency and effectiveness of the appropriate synthesis as well as the individual quality of the specific achievements related to a set of objectives consisting of scientific, technical, and societal objectives. Overall, MES-CoBraD is going to offer a new insight towards the early diagnosis of CoBraD, ensuring in this way a high quality of life.
