COALA’s solution for cognitive assistance consists of a composition of trustworthy AI components with a voice-enabled digital intelligent assistant as an interface. The solution will support workers that need to use analytics tools and new workers that perform on-the-job training. Complementary to the technology, an education and training concept that focuses on building blue-collar worker competencies in human-AI collaboration will be developed. The COALA solution will transform how workers perform their jobs and it allows companies to maintain or increase the quality of their production processes and their products.

NAIADES supports the modernization and digitization of the water sector by providing a holistic solution for the control and management of water ecosystems.

The project aims to address the increased need for sustainable and eco-friendly water methodologies by defining a new ICT framework, with a wider scope than a sole technical proposition.

Driven by the need to yield an end-to-end, uniform approach, NAIADES redefines water management by taking into consideration issues pertaining to cost, safety, complexity, vulnerability, societal acceptance, user behaviour and ethics.

The vision of ASCLEPIOS is to maximize and fortify the trust of users on cloud-based healthcare services by developing mechanisms for protecting both corporate and personal sensitive data. While researchers have developed many theoretical models that could enhance the security level of healthcare services, only a rudimentary set of techniques are currently in use. ASCLEPIOS is exploiting this gap by using several modern cryptographic approaches to build a cloud-based eHealth framework that protects users’ privacy and prevents both internal and external attacks.

ASCLEPIOS offers the ability to users to verify the integrity of their medical devices before receiving them while receiving simultaneously certain guarantees about the trustworthiness of their cloud service provider. Furthermore, ASCLEPIOS offers a novel solution through which healthcare practitioners and medical researchers are able to calculate statistics on medical data in a privacy-preserving way. Finally, various activities will be organized by the project to raise awareness in the healthcare industry. All these results will be shown by three demonstrators provided by ASCLEPIOS healthcare partners, involving three leading European hospitals.

PREVENTOMICS personalised plans for nutrition and lifestyle habits to improve the health of people are based on individual traits such as physical and behavioural traits, lifestyle, genotype, preferences and physical condition and will reach the recipients in in the form of behavioural prompts, thanks to the use of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) tools.

The project opens the door to the personalisation of treatments for the prevention of noncommunicable diseases through nutrition.

The MARBEL project develops an innovative and competitive lightweight battery with the objective to accelerate the mass market take-up of electric and hybrid vehicles.

MARBEL will design, develop and demonstrate a new compact, modular, weight-optimised and high-performance battery pack with longer life, greater energy efficiency in charging and energy use based on a robust and flexible battery management system (BMS) along with ultra-fast battery charging and cooling. Modularity will make possible to streamline repair, servicing and recycling processes, while preserving the value of new batteries and reducing hazards for operators and environmental impact.
